McMaster Engineering Welcome Week

When I first came to McMaster Engineering, Welcome Week made everything feel a little less intimidating. The people I met, the friends I made, and the energy of that first week shaped a lot of how I remember starting university.

I wanted to help create that same feeling for incoming students, so I joined Welcome Week as a representative for the Faculty of Engineering. Weekends were move-ins, and the rest of the week was a blur of events, tours, chants, questions, and a lot of running around with more energy than sleep.

There was one student from another faculty who was new to the area and seemed like they were still trying to find their people. I got to help them connect with others nearby, and even though it was a small moment, it reminded me why Welcome Week matters.

It was tiring, loud, sweaty, rainy, and honestly a lot of fun. Seeing people genuinely excited to be there made it worth it.
